The warm and refined look of antique wood, or quality reclaimed lumber, adds a beautiful architectural wood element to any home building or renovation project. You might be designing a rustic style interior with breath taking reclaimed timber-framing, wide plank rustic flooring, rich and warm wall paneling, and distressed wood doors made from old growth lumber or you may have in mind an elegant and decorative look with a good deal of fine craftsmanship and detail in molding and trim work. Another favorite is the simple straight lines of the shaker style, without the decoration of coping corners and extravagant casings. This style seeks simple but carefully crafted woodwork such as clear vertical grain (CVG) fir cabinet doors, window casings and flat stock trim and baseboard. Providing these materials in a recycled wood that has been re-milled and renewed to its original beauty is very gratifying to us. It provides your projects with history and a story to tell, as well as giving it the tight grain, quality and strength of old-growth timber. Whether you choose used Douglas fir, red oak, or rustic heart pine, or architectural molding from recycled hardwood, you'll be preserving a piece of history for future generations.
Don't be confused about reclaimed wood. We provide a variation of products from rustic (nail marks, bolt holes, large knots and checking, distressed, circle sawn, rough cut, worm wood) to nearly perfect CVG wood that is next to impossible to find. “Reclaimed wood” ”or recycled wood does not always mean rustic wood for cabins and lodges. Yes, it's old, but it's appealing to a new generation of home owners, builders, designers, and architects that are interested in taking care of today's environment. Those who feel a social responsibility while also enjoying a love for history and nature, have a hard time not recognizing the value and beauty of reclaimed wood flooring, molding, and re-milled beams. Green building materials also provide a key marketing ingredient to any project.
City, county & state programs are encouraging the use of reclaimed lumber and other green building materials by offering grants and other recognition such as the US Green Building Council's LEED Certification. Craftmark is positioned to provide prompt delivery of large quantities of this unique antique wood at competitive prices.
