The metal milking jug was actually supporting this end of the wall.

Sometimes life takes you to places unexpected.

Today that unexpected place was the home and farm of a lovely man, whose youth was spent as a dairy farmer.  There is so much to learn from the past, and thankfully he was willing to share his with us.

Our new friend purchased the 80 acre farm in Yamhill County in the 1940’s, and shared with us his amazing view of how farming has changed over the last 60 years. This amazing structure was part of the original barn built in the late 1800’s, which stood tall for a century. Made completely of old growth, Douglas Fir timber and filled with the markings of its age it was impressive. He believed some of the larger beams may have been [re]used from bridge work being done in the area.
